TMZ Live -- Snoop Smoking On Stage ... Why Cops Don't Care

Snoop Dogg can smoke whatever the hell he wants on stage -- at least that's what rap legend Flesh-n-Bone tells us -- and we've got some evidence to back it up ... some cops really do give weed-smoking rappers special treatment.

Plus, Jerry Sandusky needs a new lawyer ... FAST ... because his current one might have made a fatal error today by waiving the former Penn State coach's right to a preliminary trial. We'll explain.

Plus, South Korea's offensive new skyscraper design -- it looks just like the World Trade Center exploding. Is there an acceptable explanation?!

Robert Wagner -- Signs Off on Natalie Wood Photo

Filed under: Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner, Paparazzi Photo

Robert Wagner
refuses to ignore his history with Natalie Wood -- despite the fact he's a person of interest in a renewed investigation into her death.

Wagner made an appearance at a movie theater in Florida last night -- and on the way out, he agreed to sign a classic photo featuring himself with the actress who mysteriously died after the two had an argument on a boat back in 1981.

As we previously reported, Wagner's not officially a suspect in the investigation -- but there's been widespread speculation that investigators are looking into the possibility that he was responsible for Wood's untimely demise.

Christiane Amanpour Gets Heave-Ho at ABC -- Replaced by George Stephanopoulos

Filed under: George Stephanopoulos, Christiane Amanpour

Christiane Amanpour has gotten the boot from ABC, TMZ has learned.  She will be replaced as the host of the Sunday political show, "This Week," by George Stephanopoulos.

A well-placed source tells TMZ Christiane is going back to CNN as an international correspondent.

George will be doing double duty on "This Week" as well as "Good Morning America."

Here's what's interesting.  TMZ posted a story in September, saying there was talk at ABC about replacing George on GMA with the newsreader, Josh Elliot.  We said back then that the plan was for George to go back to "This Week" and that Josh would get the GMA anchor seat within a year.

Stay tuned ...

Leader image for Justin Bieber, Werner Herzog to Finally Square Off for an Award

The fifth annual Cinema Eye Honors for Nonfiction Filmmaking will be handed out next month in New York City, with such inveterate documentarians as Errol Morris (Tabloid), Steve James (The Interrupters) and Kevin Macdonald (Life in a Day) facing off against the upstart likes of Alma Har’el (Bombay Beach), Tristan Patterson (Dragonslayer) and Clio Barnard (The Arbor). But look no further than the Audience Choice Award nominees for the most dynamic, high-stakes clash between old and new.

See if you can spot it in the nominees announced today, on which you can vote at the Cinema Eye Honors site:

· Bill Cunningham New York (Richard Press)
· The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 (Göran Olsson)
· Buck (Cindy Meehl)
· Cave of Forgotten Dreams (Werner Herzog)
· Give Up Tomorrow (Michael Collins)
· The Interrupters (Steve James)
· Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (Jon M. Chu)
· Project Nim (James Marsh)
· Senna (Asif Kapadia)
· Tabloid (Errol Morris)

Your mileage may vary, but Bieber vs. Herzog seems to me the showdown of the 2011-12 awards season. To be fair, let’s give Jon M. Chu — the swell auteur behind Never Say Never — credit as the nominated filmmaker, but let’s also be honest about the cosmically profound implications of two 3-D films featuring two icons of our day, each reflecting the state of human culture some 30,000 years apart. The earliest known cave drawings versus the slickest statement of modern…
